This woman told me, "I was nine years old when I was abducted [in 1994]." God's Liberation Army rebels held her captive for fifteen years before she could escape in June 2009. Only about ten percent of the children abducted by rebels in northern Uganda have survived over a twenty-year period. Currently the kidnappings and abuses by this rebel group are continuing in neighboring Congo, Central African Republic and Southern Sudan.
